The MezziCoin mobile app uses device location to provide location-based features.
Where you have enabled the relevant location permissions and features, the app may process qualifying location information to support features including the creation of new MezziCoins through location activity and the discovery of Coin Collections associated with designated real-world locations.
Where practicable, location information used for location activity is processed in a way that reduces or removes its direct association with the Member. We do not retain a permanent record of a Member's movements or a permanent record identifying which individual Member created particular MezziCoins.
Location information, including information linking a Member to Coins created through location activity, may be retained for up to 72 hours for purposes including troubleshooting, security, fraud prevention and monitoring for activity that may harm the Service or the MezziCoin network. This period may be extended where reasonably necessary to investigate or resolve an issue.
For designated onland treasure locations, the app must be able to establish that a Member is physically present at or near the relevant location in order to determine whether the associated collection can be discovered.
Location reporting can be disabled through the relevant device permissions. Location permission is not required to use the Service generally, although certain location-based features will not be available without the relevant permission.
