MezziCoin is a new concept in the form of a GeoCoin. GeoCoins are digital collectibles linked to real-world geographic locations. Each MezziCoin corresponds to a unique nine-square-metre area of land. The idea is straightforward. MezziCoins are free to collect, easy to understand and connected to real-world geography. The MezziCoin system does not use blockchain technology or energy-intensive cryptocurrency mining.
MezziCoins are not a currency and cannot be used as one. They exist as location-linked digital collectibles that anyone can start gathering.
What makes a MezziCoin different

MezziCoin uses a geographic grid to connect digital collectibles with physical locations.
The network divides the world into areas of nine square metres. A GeoCoin can be associated with each area, making each coin unique in respect of the geographic location it represents.
Unlike a conventional digital collectible system with an arbitrary fixed supply, the MezziCoin network is connected to real-world geography. As more people participate, explore and report locations, the geographic network can continue to expand.
The result is a digital collection system that is physically mapped onto the world, with each coin representing a specific place rather than simply an entry in an abstract digital supply.

Every location reported, collection discovered and new member who joins helps grow the MezziCoin community and network.
The network will bring together people exploring their local area, discovering new places, playing games, finding collections in real-world locations and competing with other members around the world.

How you collect MezziCoins
The MezziCoin app is free to download and gives you several enjoyable ways to build your collection:
1. Location activity
Enable location reporting and the app can record qualifying location activity in the background as you move around during your day. When you create 125 new coins through location activity, you are allocated a coin collection elsewhere in the country where you have been participating. The collection you receive is separate from the individual coins you helped create.
2. Online treasure hunts
Jump into word games and compete with players around the world. Winners receive collections of MezziCoins. The games are quick, simple and fun to return to.
3. Onland treasure hunts
Head out into the real world for a geocaching-style experience. Grant the app location permissions and let it check your position as you explore. When you visit a designated treasure location and the app reports your location, you can discover the collection associated with that area. Coins are placed in easily discoverable locations so the hunt stays accessible and enjoyable. You simply explore, find the location and see what you've discovered.
4. Invite others
Every registered user receives a unique invite code. When friends, family or others join with your code and collect coins, additional coin collections are added for you. These collections can appear in locations anywhere in the world, giving you a direct way to grow the community and your own set of coins at the same time.
Coins often appear near places where other coins have already been created through location activity, so the map feels alive with the activity of other collectors.
What is a coin collection?
A MezziCoin collection is a group of coins in a particular geographic location. Collections are distributed to community members through location activity, games, referrals and real-world discovery.
In a future phase, collections are intended to become location-based digital advertising properties, allowing eligible businesses and organisations to advertise in association with their geographic location.
How new MezziCoins are created
An initial set of MezziCoins was created in various locations around the world. From now on, new coins are generated only through user activity in the app. As more people join, play the games, explore outdoors and report locations, the number of coins in the network will grow as community activity expands.

Phase 2 : Connect locations with businesses
MezziCoin will introduce location-based advertising, allowing coin collections to represent digital advertising inventory associated with their geographic locations.
Phase 3 : Explore collection trading
Subject to regulatory review and any required approvals, MezziCoin intends to explore a marketplace where collections can be bought and sold.
Note: Collections are currently distributed through participation, games, referrals and discovery, and cannot be purchased. Exchange of coin collections will only be introduced following regulatory review and subject to any approvals, permissions or other legal requirements that may apply.
